3. "When Trump dropped major tariffs on pretty much everything, my Trump stumper wife was so happy that I just had to propose that, since she believes the 'tariffs are good and aren’t taxes and that our prices won’t rise because we don’t pay for it,' that I'm not going to buy any more food. She can buy the food."
"I usually pay all the bills and rent and for most other things, and she buys whatever and uses her income for herself and our two teens and has built up a nice savings. I'M NOT A MONSTER.
She has never worried about the price of an item; she bought with freedom and on a whim, and we had an abundance of food, the majority of the time. Lately, the cupboards are becoming more sparse. I’m getting Uber Eats charges, even when I’m not eating, and the majority of her savings is gone. I haven’t heard anything about a tariff ever since. Stupid way to learn how to budget. Effective but stupid. Looks like I took an ‘L’ and a ‘W’…I say worth it."
