7 Real Things Republicans Did This Week That I Never Imagined Would Fit Into A Real Sentence

1 month ago 19

Every week in politics feels like an eternity, and it's impossible to keep up with everything — especially the silly or outrageous stuff. So, for your entertainment and knowledge, here are the most ridiculous things Republicans did this week that you might have missed.

Almost immediately, a Fox News segment insinuated the tattoos were sacrilegious. “I wish she would pray to the Virgin rather than placing a tattoo of her on her bicep," Fox News contributor Raymond Arroyo said.

Mace responded by writing on X, "My biceps should NOT be a news story." To which one person replied, "Damn, it sure sucks when other people are obsessed with what you choose to do with your own body!"

2. In another corner of the internet, right-wing podcaster Tim Pool stormed out of a Jubilee debate after someone called out his "sensationalist" video titles.

It all started when one debater pushed back on Pool's talk about an upcoming Civil War in the US. Pool argued that he didn't have a “strong prediction” on the subject matter. But the debater pushed again: “First of all, you do have a strong prediction. You’ve been saying this since 2019... There’s 42 of your titles that have the word ‘civil war’ in it. Like big fonts on the front.”

“So why is that? It’s sensationalist. It’s easy to get clicks on that. There’s a reason why you say it because it’s very profitable for your business," the debater said.

“I’m saying that you say bullshit in order to get money.”

The moment also bore this meme.

3. Jump scare! Yes, a Trump moment is on the list because earlier this week, the president was leaving a stage when people noticed a bulge around his backside.

This fueled a lot of unsubstantiated rumors.

4. Ninety-two-year-old Senator Chuck Grassley visited the Iowa State Fair and took this seemingly wholesome photo.

But then someone told people to zoom into the background.

Yeah, that's a guy wearing an "I <3 Sluts" shirt. Cute!

5. SIGH. Senator Jon Ossoff named Natalie Harp in a rally speech and now we all know wayyyyy too much about her.

If you somehow haven't heard, Harp is known as Trump's "human printer" because she follows the hard-copy-loving president around with a portable printer. This week, we learned that she has reportedly jumped in the trunk of an SUV when Trump didn't save her a seat, and the Daily Beast published letters allegedly written by Harp to Trump that appear intimate in nature.

"You are all that matters to me. I don’t want to ever let you down,” one letter purportedly reads. "With all my heart, Natalie."

6. For whatever reason, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy's wife, Rachel, decided to share the following marriage advice with the world: "The key to a good, long-lasting marriage is to marry someone very good-looking that you're attracted to because marriage involves a lot of forgiveness, and it's easier to forgive someone when you're very attracted to them."

Nobody asked, but now that we're here, we're all concerned.

7. You know how Trump decided Lindsey Graham's sister, Darline Graham, should get the late Senator's seat in some weird heir to the throne move? Well, here's how her attempt to meet the moment is going:

Q: Are Taiwan and the South China Sea national security issues for the United States?

Sen. Darline Graham: “I’m just going to be honest here. I’m not that informed on national security, so — but I do support the military.”
