A Woman Found A Wall Covered In [REDACTED] At A Tinder Date's Home, And 17 More Wild Things People Unsuspectingly Found In "Normal" People's Houses

Going to your school friend's house for the first time and experiencing a different lifestyle was always interesting, but not necessarily concerning... However, over on Threads, people are sharing what they saw at someone's home that skipped right over the concerning part and jumped straight to "CALL 911!" Here are 18 of the most goosebump-inducing answers:

1. "I went to a friend's house for a sleepover. Her toilet was a bucket under a bench that her dad emptied when it got full, and they had a camping jug on the counter for water. The kitchen floor was caved in."

2. "I walked into my friend’s house, and everything was fine until we got to the living room, where there was a life-size, hyper-realistic sculpture of her great-grandmother on the recliner. I don’t think it was taxidermy, but it looked like it could’ve been. They talked to it, too. My friend introduced me to the sculpture. Her great-grandmother had been dead for nearly 20 years at that point. I made an excuse to leave and never went back after that."

3. "I was in Australia, and matched with someone on Tinder. He showed me around his house. I asked about a room we walked past and didn’t enter. I joked that it's where he hides the bodies, and his face changed immediately. I made an excuse to leave, put my shoes on, and ran for the nearest set of streetlights. I blocked him before I even made it to the front gate."

4. "My mom forced me to have a sleepover with this girl from church, Kristine. That night, during a weird convo with her mom about periods, I said I hadn’t started mine yet. Kristine took me to her room and proudly revealed her closet floor full of used maxi pads to show off how much she menstruated. I didn’t sleep a wink or eat a bite of food in that house."

5. "I was hanging out with my friends and some metal dudes at the pub. They wanted to kick on at their place, so we all went along. As soon as I walked into this apartment, it was an immediate nope. The lighting was all red and the walls were covered in Nazi paraphernalia, including a framed photograph of Hitler above the mantle. We left immediately."

6. "I had been talking to this cute guy on Hinge, great vibe, a few good dates. On the third date, he invited me over to his place. I walked in and audibly gasped. He had these weird-ass, badly made wax figures just...standing around? Then I noticed the lamps, Ed Gein-style lamps WITH NIPPLES ON THEM. He said they were 'custom-made,' as if that made it better. There was an entire room of his house dedicated to unhinged haunted objects. I have never gotten the hell out of a house so fast."

7. "I was in my early 20s, and the group of guys I always hung out with wanted to go to a house party at one of their girlfriends' houses. When I got there, this girl had guinea pigs running around all over her house. There were elaborate tunnel systems for them along the walls, but they were all just running around."

"The house smelled like a weird mix of wet grass and urine, and there were little poop pellets in places. I am an animal lover. I save spiders from inside my house. But when I saw that furry little pig poop on the kitchen floor, I was out."

8. "I went to the house of a well-known cop in the community, and all he had were Muppets everywhere. I mean, EVERYWHERE. Pouring out of cupboards, on top of the TV. Kermit the frog and Miss Piggy were 'having a wedding on the dining room table.' I was OUT. To this day, Muppets scare me."

9. "I walked into a house party. It was a house full of guys, and on the table were handcuffs, trash bags, zip ties, and gloves. I turned right around and ran out of there."

—@misterjonesandme

10. "There were dead roach guts and bodies all over the walls. The fridge was a biohazard. This was during COVID, so the horrid smell stuck to my mask. I watched a roach size me up, debating if it should jump on me or not..."

11. "When I was in fourth grade, I went to a friend's house, and accidentally knelt on something wet in the living room. My entire leg was soaked, and my friend and her family were laughing because I had knelt in PEE. Her little sister had PEED on the carpet, and they had just left it, and then laughed at me when I knelt in it. I never went back there!"

12. "I walked into a filthy living room where a bunch of kids were sitting on the floor eating cereal. Right there on the coffee table next to them was a possum eating the carcass of a rotisserie chicken. Apparently, they'd been throwing their trash down the big hole in their floor (as you do, I guess), and the possum came through looking for more. They just let it come and go. From the floor hole."

13. "I walked in, and the house REEKED of Lysol. The front room was normal, but there was a room just off to the side with nothing in it but a massive chest freezer chained shut and a drain in the center of the floor. I practically ran from that house."

14. "I sat on their couch, and the cushion started WRITHING under my butt. I jumped up so fast. There were hundreds of bugs trapped under the couch cover."

15. "When I lived in Paris, I went to a hookup’s place. I was invited to sit on the bed while they went to the bathroom. After a few minutes, I saw that the closet door was cracked open. I got paranoid and thought maybe someone was in the closet. No, nobody was in the closet. There was, however, a piece of cardboard about my height, with labeled used condoms pinned to it; there had to be at least 30 on there. I got the fuck out of there so fast."

16. "I rode the school bus home with a friend to hang out; to this day, it is the dirtiest house I’ve ever seen. There were piles of trash, dust, dirt, and roaches everywhere. I went to pee, and there was a stack of dirty dishes on the back of the TOILET!! Her mom offered to make food, and I said, 'NO THANK YOU, NOT HUNGRY!' When my mom picked me up, they asked if I could sleep over, and I tugged at her arm, whispering, 'Please say no!'"

17. "There were weeks' worth of dried cat shit EVERYWHERE: in the hallway, bathroom, kitchen, on the kids' beds, etc. The kids would leave it, saying 'it’s not my cat,' and the parents wouldn’t clean it for god knows what reason. I left and never went back."

18. And lastly, "In college, I slept in a man’s dorm room, and when the sun came up, I noticed there was chewed gum all on the headboard — I’m talking covered in gum. When I said something about it, he said, 'Well, you know, bitches gotta put their gum somewhere when the shit gets going.' I don’t even know if I got dressed before I left that room."
