Aaron Judge update vs. Twins could be major concern for Yankees

New York Yankees fans are in wait-and-see mode with Aaron Judge.

In the sixth inning of today's series finale against the Minnesota Twins, Heliot Ramos pinch-hit for Judge.

"Heliot Ramos pinch-hitting for Aaron Judge in the 6th inning," The Athletic's Chris Kirschner wrote on X. "Well, then."

This is an obvious concern for the Yankees. Judge recently returned from the injured list after being sidelined for 100 days with a fractured rib.

Since his return, he's looked rusty at the plate despite a three-run home run in Monday's 8-3 win.

Before he left Wednesday's contest, Judge went 0-for-2 with two strikeouts against Twins starter Zebby Matthews.

The YES Network broadcast caught Judge slightly grimacing during his second at-bat, but to this point, there's no report that he's suffered an injury.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone has implemented a cautious approach since Judge returned from the IL, giving him a few days off and pulling him from games after about three at-bats or seven innings or so.

Another Judge injury would be catastrophic for the Yankees as the postseason approaches.

For now, the Yankees universe has to wait and hope for the best.
