9. "All the nihilism and doomerism. Yes, our government, social services, and infrastructure are crumbling, life is more expensive than ever, and things are bleak. But I am totally lost with 'the whole world is fucked, why even try' attitude."

"I don’t know, maybe because the world is beautiful, and we’re in the best years of our lives, and goddamn it, we’re not dead yet?? Get a hobby, or a cat, or even a fish, and get off the fucking phone; you’ll feel better."

15. "The annoying selfishness. I’ve been floored at how readily people use therapeutic language like 'gaslighting,' 'self-care,' 'anxiety,' etc., to defend extremely self-centered behaviors. No, anxiety is not a reason to ghost someone who’s done nothing wrong by you. It’s not a reason not to answer phones at work as part of your job. Being asked to be on time for an event isn’t an unreasonable demand, and sending advance notice if you need to reschedule is basic fucking courtesy."

"Yet so many people my age seem to think ANYTHING that asks them to venture slightly outside their comfort zone is traumatic. This makes it harder to maintain relationships, jobs, friendships, etc., all because it’s about doing things on your time, with your energy, and never doing anything for anyone else."
