Bills update from ESPN reveals Keon Coleman belief despite rough offseason

The Buffalo Bills' wide receiver room has been a big talking point this offseason. From the big trade for DJ Moore to the drama surrounding Keon Coleman, there's been plenty of storylines to go around about this WR room.

With training camp underway and the Bills getting closer to the regular season, the situation surrounding Coleman from the offseason, after he was thrown under the bus after Sean McDermott's firing, has not led to a trade or release.

Instead, according to ESPN's Ben Solak, the Bills still believe in Coleman despite the rough and awkward offseason for the 2nd-round WR. Coleman seems to be an actual part of the offense, albeit with plenty of questions still left for how involved he'll be.

"There's still internal belief in wideout Keon Coleman, who is coming into this season with much lower expectations than he did last year," Solak writes.

Coleman should not be viewed as a key piece for this Bills offense, especially now with Moore in-house and Shakir ahead of Coleman in the pecking order.

But the Bills are apparently not giving up on Coleman despite a tumultuous offseason between the WR and the Bills.

The third-year WR will be competing with Joshua Palmer in the WR room for the team's third receiver spot behind Moore and Shakir.

While things haven't gone well for Coleman since being drafted, the Bills aren't giving up hope just yet that Coleman can be a valuable WR for Josh Allen and the Bills.

Drafted 33rd overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, Coleman is still just 23 years old and under contract for the next two seasons.

Giving up on Coleman now might be a bit too early, though. With the offseason drama that unfolded, it's a little bit of a surprise that the Bills have not only hung onto Coleman but still believe in him.

This will be a situation to monitor as the preseason unfolds, as he could be a trade candidate, even with this report; the Bills believe in him. His future is uncertain, but for now, the Bills seem to believe in the 6-foot-4 WR after a rough offseason.
