Carson Wentz came up big for the Minnesota Vikings by helping to lead his team to victory in the Week 1 game against the Green Bay Packers and he's going to be rewarded handsomely for it.
Wentz was called into action after fellow signal-caller Kyler Murray was forced to leave the game early due to a hit to his head that led to a concussion.
Minnesota had to mount a comeback after trailing 22-10 late in the third quarter and ultimately blew the doors off the Packers in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
Because of incentives in his contract, Wentz will net a cool $100,000 for the win.
According to Front Office Sports, Wentz's contract includes incentives that give him $100,000 for every game he plays 60% of snaps and wins, up to six wins.
After six, Wentz's incentive goes up to a whopping $150,000 per victory, up to six victories.
"Carson Wentz’s win over the Packers just earned him a $100,000 bonus," Front Office Sports wrote.
"Wentz gets $100K each time he plays at least 60% of the snaps in a win, up to six wins. After that, each of his next six wins is worth $150K," FOS added.
Wentz finished the game completing 12-of-19 passes for 133 yards and three touchdowns to zero picks.
Those certainly weren't gaudy numbers, but Wentz didn't need to do much with the Vikings' defense putting the clamps on Green Bay and forcing two turnovers, both of which came in the fourth quarter.
The Vikings had to travel a total of 15 yards to score a pair of touchdowns after those turnovers.
It remains to be seen if Murray will play in Week 2, but if not Wentz will have another opportunity to add a six-figure check to his bank account.
