On Sept. 29, actor Chad Lowe and producer Kim Painter shared the heartbreaking news that their 13-year-old daughter, Fiona Hepler Lowe, had died.

In the statement shared with People, the Lowe family said, "We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona." They remembered Fiona as "a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance," adding: "She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives."

The statement concluded with a reference to the national suicide and crisis helpline. Two days later, on Oct. 1, Fiona’s manner of death was ruled a suicide. According to a statement from the medical examiner shared with People, the teen was pronounced dead at 1:14 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at a local hospital.

Fiona was the middle of Chad and Kim’s three daughters. Their oldest, Mabel Painter, is 17, and their youngest, Nixie Barbara, is 10.

On Oct. 3, Mabel shared a beautiful tribute to Fiona on Instagram. The post featured a collection of photographs of the two sisters taken throughout their childhood. In the caption, Mabel wrote: "I love you so much, Fiona. I wish your short time here was easier and I hope your mind is at ease now."

"I will honor you forever and keep your memory alive," she concluded. "I love you, i hope you knew just how much."

Mabel's comments section is filled with messages of support from loved ones and various celebrities. Notably, her mom, Kim, left a comment that simply read: "oh mabel. i love you so much."

We are sending love and support to Kim, Chad, Mabel, Nixie, and all of Fiona's loved ones.
