Cowboys star has a chance to finally put his injury woes behind him

The Dallas Cowboys are coming out on what Jerry Jones hopes is a season that takes them to the playoffs and deep. But, as with any NFL team, a lot of this team's success has to do with them staying healthy. We all remember the season not long ago when quarterback Dak Prescott was out for the entire second part of the season due to injury. That wasn't fun.

Now, one NFL analyst believes a certain Cowboys star is going to not only be healthy this year but also excel. You may even see this guy snag his first Pro Bowl appearance, if the stars align.

DeMarvion Overshown could make his first Pro Bowl

On Wednesday, Kevin Patra of the NFL's official website released a feature naming one player from each NFC team that he thinks will be a first-time Pro Bowler this season. For the Cowboys, he's going with DeMarvion Overshown.

In the piece, he says that he's "excited to see a healthy DeMarvion Overshown in Christian Parker's defense."

"When he's on the field, the linebacker brings speed, length and playmaking to the middle of the unit," he adds. "He's like a magnet to the pigskin."

Injuries, of course, are the one thing that has held this guy back. Over the past three seasons, he's missed 32 regular-season games due to injury. Hopefully that's behind him.

"With an improved scheme and significantly better surrounding players," Patra adds, "Overshown profiles as the lightning bolt of the revamped D in Dallas."
