Deion Sanders needs a special teams coordinator after 'too few men' during FG block

The Colorado Buffaloes (2-2) took on the monumental task of trying to knock off No. 12 Texas Tech on Saturday.

The Buffs took a 7-3 halftime lead, which nobody expected at Folsom Field. However, there was one play Deion Sanders and his staff might want to review very carefully.

Colorado took a timeout because there were only eight players out for a field goal block. Being down three players isn't good for business. But then they came out of the timeout with only nine players in formation. Chalk that up as the oddest play of the year.

To make matters worse, Deion Sanders doesn't have a special teams coordinator on his Colorado staff. The closest coach to being responsible for that unit is Jacob Heavers, who is a graduate assistant for special teams, according to the CU Buffs football staff site.

Colorado knew how to count when Boo Carter blocked what would have been the game-winning field goal to open the season at Georgia Tech. CU won 14-13, which was the first win for the school over an ACC team in six decades.

Nevertheless, Colorado hopefully won't be a few players short when the game is truly on the line.
