In the Oklahoma City Thunder roster, there are plenty of athletic players. While everyone knows that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is their best player, people might be surprised when they hear Jalen Williams calling him the fastest player on the team.
Since he is not seen as one of the league's elite athletes, people were in disbelief. That was unclear until there was a clip of Jared McCain doing sprints in practice and SGA comprehensively beating him.
Jared McCain gives a glimpse into what it feels running alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
The Thunder are filled with elite athletes, and that helps them be a strong team in every area. That is evident in how they defend, which is why players like Cason Wallace and even SGA defend so well against their players.
Their athleticism is a big part of their development, which is why McCain is also getting some reps. He has been sprinting alongside Gilgeous-Alexander, but it seems the viral clip from training camp has done McCain a disservice.

In that clip, it seemed that McCain and Gilgeous-Alexander started running at the same time, but it seems the training plans were much more different than people realize.
"It wasn’t a race, but what's funny is right before it, I almost caught a cramp... I would say Dub is the fastest; Dub's really fast, I feel like we've seen it in transition. I would say him," McCain candidly reacted to the clip that went viral of him and Gilgeous-Alexander sprinting.
It is also quite interesting that McCain pointed out that Jalen Williams is the fastest player on the Thunder. There are varied answers, and it just goes to show the current players' athleticism.
