The politically savvy comic proposed one simple way for Democrats to free the party from what “got us into this mess” during his Wednesday podcast.

Jon Stewart told Democrats their massive midterm wins won’t mean a thing if they don’t tear down the “bullshit system” that rules the party and say goodbye to those at the top of it.
“That’s job one of this opportunity. Job one of this opportunity is to tear down the obstacles and old way of thinking that got us into this mess,” Stewart said. “Someone has to meet this moment and they have got to show — and this moment is not, ‘Oh, we get to impeach everybody.’ Like, fuck that. Like, you have an opportunity to actually govern. Do it. Take it.”
The faux pundit said removing the “bullshit system” of seniority that shapes the party is one of the first things that needs to go if Democrats want to be effective.
Stewart scoffed at the suggestion that Schumer should stay in his post, let alone get credit for the blue wave that rocked America on Tuesday.
Shutting down the senator’s defenders, he said, “They’re already like, ‘Chuck Schumer deserves a lot of credit for putting together this…’ Chuck Schumer deserves... Chuck Schumer fought tooth and nail against half of these fucking people! And even if he didn’t, he does not understand the urgency of the moment and what the future demands. I truly believe that.”
