Girls Aloud fans, assemble, because Kimberley Walsh has just opened up about the possibility of a reunion – and the internet is here for it.
“Never say never,” she quipped, before adding: “Because it was amazing [...] I feel like if people want it then maybe it’ll happen at some point.”
And if we're going off what the people want, then it's pretty much settled.
“This is all we want,” one fan commented.
“Hell yeah, and a new album,” another agreed.
“It’s not a want, it’s a need,” someone else wrote, while another added: “Yes, the people do want it! I speak for them all.”
So, Kimberley, you know what you have to do.
Elsewhere in the interview, Kimberley revealed which Girls Aloud song she's currently loving the most.
“I feel like I go through different phases,” she said. “I feel like it’s back to ‘Sound of the Underground’”.
“There’s something really special about being able to perform a song that’s that old, and it still feels exciting,” she added.
And while fans might assume the group knew they had a hit on their hands with every single they released, it turns out there was one song they weren't entirely convinced by.
“None of us really fully believed in ‘Love Machine’ […] so clearly we didn’t know what we were talking about,” she joked.
Kimberley explained that it felt “quite different” to their other music, which was rather “guitar-based”.
“Then they come with 'Love Machine', and we’re a bit like, ‘this is not us. This is, you know, a totally different vibe,” she recalled.
Given how iconic "Love Machine" has since become, it sounds like the group might have been a little wrong about that one.
