According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Horn reportedly suffered a serious quad injury that could force the Panthers to be without their superstar CB for the next six to 12 weeks, which is a brutal timeline for a team trying to repeat as division winners.

This report from Fowler is a brutal one for the Panthers, with the only good news being that it's not a season-ending injury, according to this report.

The Panthers' defense allowed the Browns and Deshaun Watson to score 21 points in the Week 3 loss. Horn's absence played a huge role in the team's struggles.

Going forward, the Panthers are sure to struggle defending wide receivers without Horn, one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL in recent years.

The two-time Pro Bowler had five interceptions a year ago and has 10 in his NFL career. He played in only three games his rookie season, and six in his third year in the league.

Now, after back-to-back seasons with 15 and 16 games played in 2024 and 2025 respectively, Horn's trending towards another single-digit games-played season for the Panthers.

A six-week absence would mean Horn would return in Week 10. But 12 weeks would have Horn returning to the Panthers' defense at the end of the season, potentially for the final game or two as they try to secure a playoff spot.

This is a massive blow for the Panthers. Horn is a superstar cornerback whose absence is going to make this Panthers' defense significantly worse. He's surely going to land on injured reserve, with the only question being how close to 12 weeks his absence gets to.
