Rams get interesting trade report after Davante Adams' multi-week injury

The 2-4 Los Angeles Rams are one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL this season. Meant to be a top Super Bowl contender, there's a real chance that the Rams aren't even a playoff team when it's all said and done.

But their season isn't over yet. However, the team did just get a crushing piece of news following Week 6, as star wide receiver Davante Adams was revealed to have suffered a serious, multi-week hamstring injury.

After such a brutal injury, ESPN's Dan Graziano is reporting that the Rams, even at 2-4, are expected to search the WR trade market for potential additions to try and keep their season alive while Adams is out.

Rams expected to make trade calls for WR help after Davante Adams injury

"I do not expect the Rams to go down without a fight, and my understanding is that they will at least explore the possibility of trading for a wide receiver in the wake of Davante Adams' hamstring injury," Graziano reports.

This is a noteworthy development for the Rams, as it shows the team is still trying to compete and make the playoffs from their 2-4 record, despite the 6-0 San Francisco 49ers dominating and the NFC Wild Card being a very tight race.

But the Rams potentially adding wide receiver help shouldn't come as a huge surprise, as they had already been one of the teams linked to WRs on the trade market, even before the Adams injury.

This is an all-in team after their blockbuster trades for Myles Garrett and Trent McDuffie. Spending a few more draft picks on WR help wouldn't be a surprise whatsoever. They've already mortgaged their future on this 2026 roster.

It wouldn't make sense to give up now, especially since Garrett should come back, and Adams could return later this season as well.

While the Rams might not land a blockbuster name like Brian Thomas Jr., someone like Jerry Jeudy would be a solid veteran presence in the WR room to help in the meantime while Adams sits on IR with a serious hamstring injury.

They're already all-in for 2026; there's no reason why they shouldn't invest a bit more to bolster a roster that can still do some damage if they make the playoffs.

Graziano is reporting that WR help is something Les Snead and Sean McVay will consider adding. While the 2-4 Rams might not seem like a buyer, this team is in too deep to not continue striving for a title in 2026.
