Warriors' Steph Curry gets brutally honest about missing on 76ers' LeBron James this summer

The Golden State Warriors understand that Steph Curry is nearing the end of his career. For this reason, Golden State had really big plans for free agency.

Just because an organization has big plans doesn’t mean everything is going to go according to plan. The Warriors went after Anthony Davis and LeBron James.

“The Golden State Warriors are planning a pursuit of LeBron James in free agency and Anthony Davis via trade this week, league sources told ESPN's Shams Charania, opening up the flexibility for such a possibility after Draymond Green declined his $27.6 million player option Monday morning," ESPN's Anthony Slater wrote.

Golden State was in full pursuit of James, as they wanted to pair him with Curry at the end of their legendary careers. Even Curry had a meeting with him to discuss the possibility.

“Pairing him with Stephen Curry is going to be something that the Warriors are going to pursue over the next few weeks… It seemed very doubtful, it seemed low percentage, now it’s kind of questionable. Now there’s going to be some legs to this… That same source told us that Steph is planning on meeting and talking with LeBron about potentially joining the Warriors over the course of the next few weeks leading up to free agency,” NBA insider Brett Siegel said.

During media day on Monday, Curry was asked about missing out on superstars like James, and he gave a blunt answer about the business.

“Same way when you pull up to shoot a shot and you miss… If it doesn't happen, it doesn't change your vibe at all. It's part of the business,” Curry told the media.

The four-time NBA champion knows that this is the business and misses are going to happen. However, he also knows the feeling of missing out on someone like James, who could have completely changed the roster.

It would have been nice to see the two play together after their great battles. Like Curry stated, it is the business, and it doesn’t always have to be nice. After pursuing James as hard as they did, it does hurt a little bit to not land him.
