All eyes are on Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors as he remains on the verge of a contract extension. The four-time NBA champion is set to get paid once again.
It is simply a matter of how much. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst believes Golden State is prepared to give Curry whatever he wants.
“It's not whether or not Steve is going to sign. It's what's on the plate. Just to give you guys some insight when you're over the age of 38 in the NBA you can only sign for a maximum of three years. This is an old rule from the '90s. And it's used to be over 36, but when Chris Paul and LeBron James were running the players association, they were getting close to their late 30's they pushed it to 38. Curry makes $62 million this year, so he can add 2 years onto it. Or he can do a 1 year max or just wait. The warriors are putting the decision in Steph's hands. There is no negotiation," Windhorst said.
Another aspect of Curry's situation is more concerning. There have been reports that his knee injury from last season is still lingering.
“There's at least some lingering concern about the knee. From what I've been told, it can be managed, but it has to be managed and that's a new thing for Steph because people always say he is the most conditioned guy in the League and now he has to manage a knee. I guess we'll find out, but from what I understand, he and his trainers have devised ways to kind of work around that and sort of support that whole possibility of the knee not being as great as he wants it to be. So, I'm curious to see how it turns out, but Steph seemed pretty confident that he'll be able to go out there and put out 70+ games,” NBC Sports’ Monte Poole said.
However, Curry has seemingly put all of the noise behind him. In a season where the Warriors are not expected to make the playoffs, a crazy video of Curry making 82 straight three-pointers was released.

It hardly seems real that someone can shoot the basketball as well as Curry does. In a world dominated by AI, that is exactly what the video feels like.
The craziest part of the video is that it cuts off after Curry makes 82 straight shots. He was not shown missing or even stopping, meaning he could have continued the streak after the video ended. That possibility makes the entire feat even more unbelievable.
The video serves as another reminder of why Curry remains deserving of another extension at 38 years old. His lingering knee injury seems just fine as he looks in good health and shape.
