World Series Game 5 live score, updates, highlights from Brewers vs. Rays in 2026 MLB playoffs

The Tampa Bay Rays staved off elimination with an extra-inning victory over the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 4, thanks to a huge bottom of the 12th inning. Now, the Rays still face a big mountain to climb down 3-1 in the series.

Tampa Bay's effort on Tuesday night included using Nick Martinez out of the bullpen even though he was lined up to pitch Game 5. So, the Rays will instead turn to Drew Rasmussen on three days' rest, hoping the ace has a better performance than he had in Game 2.

The Rays offense, meanwhile, has struggled to produce, as it has just one home run this series and combined for 11 runs in four games. While Tampa Bay's offense isn't the strength of the team, the Rays need players like Yandy Diaz and Junior Caminero to carry the load.

For the Brewers, last night was certainly deflating, but they are still in good shape entering Game 5. Milwaukee sends ace Jacob Misiorowski to the mound for his first road start of the playoffs, as he has yet to throw a pitch outside of Milwaukee this October.

The Brewers' offense had its worst performance on Tuesday night, but the unit still has outplayed the Rays' offense this series. William Contreras and Jackson Chourio have been the best two hitters this series, and they hope to end the series tonight.

No team in World Series history has forced a Game 6 after falling down 3-0, which is what the Rays will hope to do and the Brewers will look to avoid.
